The Challenge
In the past, the
work during the shifts was manual, with the refueling plan being prepared in
advance on worksheets. The shift manager would send a technician to refuel the
aircraft, and the latter would record the refueling details. At the end of each
refueling, a representative of the airline signed a packing list approving
execution of the work onsite.
This procedure
created several problems:
Complex task-management process
Difficulties prioritizing and allocating manpower to tasks
Management problems, especially during peak hours
Inability to monitor the work in the field and monitor the tasks’ status in real time
Mistakes and delays inputting data into the system, which caused errors in calculations and slowed the entire process
