It was with a great deal of pride that we took on the job as sole transporter for the big Swedish furniture company’s customer orders all over the country, says sales manager Karsten Kjær from 3x34. – After all it is not everyday that a – although large and very experienced – courier company gets an order of that calibre with delivery to private customers.

Demand for unique and continuous traceability  

The contract also demanded that we could ensure the furniture company optimum and continuous track & trace of all consignments – in the stock, in the car and at delivery to the customer, says Karsten Kjær. – And furthermore it was a demand that the new tracking system should be unique to their consignments. In order to meet these demands we contacted Psion Teklogix who we knew from before and who among other things is a specialist in the field of barcode solutions and wireless data capture. It has to be a hardware that is both robust and user-friendly and those are 2 significant characteristics of the Workabout Pro, he says. – The PDA has IP65 approval for water and dust tightness and can handle a 1.5 m fall on concrete. It is simple to use and the VGA colour screen is easy to read, even outdoors in the sunlight. - As mentioned the time was short in relation to finding a tracking solution that met all specification demands and thereby made us and not least our customer happy.
